Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The Indian Journal of Ayurveda & Alternative Medicines (IJAAM) is dedicated to the advancement of research and knowledge in the fields of Ayurveda and alternative medicines. We welcome original research articles, review articles, case studies, and short communications. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts that contribute significantly to the understanding of Ayurvedic principles, practices, and their integration with modern medicine.

Manuscript Categories
Original Research Articles: Detailed studies presenting new data and findings.
Review Articles: Comprehensive and critical reviews of literature in specific areas.
Case Studies: Detailed reports of individual cases that provide insights into clinical practices.
Short Communications: Brief reports on novel findings or innovative methods.

Submission Process
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the IJAAM online submission system. First-time users must create an account before submitting a manuscript.

General Formatting
Language: English
Font: Times New Roman, 12-point
Spacing: Double-spaced
Margins: 1 inch (2.5 cm) on all sides
Page Numbers: Bottom center of each page

Structure of Manuscripts
Title Page: Title, author names and affiliations, corresponding author’s contact information, and acknowledgments.
Abstract: A concise summary of the manuscript (250-300 words).
Keywords: 4-6 keywords relevant to the study.
Introduction: Background, objectives, and significance of the study.
Materials and Methods: Detailed description of the study design, materials used, and methods followed.
Results: Presentation of the findings with appropriate use of tables and figures.
Discussion: Interpretation of the results, comparison with existing literature, and implications of the findings.
Conclusion: Summary of the main findings and their potential impact.
References: Cited in the text by numbers and listed at the end of the manuscript in the order they appear. References should be in APA / Vancouver referencing style. 

Tables and Figures
Tables: Each table should be on a separate page and include a title and legend.
Figures: High-resolution images in JPEG or PNG format. Figures should be numbered consecutively.

Ethical Considerations
Human and Animal Rights: Manuscripts involving human or animal subjects must comply with ethical standards. Authors must include a statement confirming approval by the relevant ethical review board.
Informed Consent: Authors must ensure that all participants gave informed consent.
Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

Plagiarism Policy
IJAAM adheres to a strict anti-plagiarism policy. Manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using appropriate tools. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized content will be rejected.

Peer Review Process
All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process. Authors should ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in a way that does not reveal their identities to the reviewers.

Manuscript Revisions
Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers' comments. Revised manuscripts should be resubmitted within the specified time frame.

Article Processing Charges
There are no submission fees. However, authors may be required to pay a one time Article Processing Charges upon acceptance of their manuscript. Details of the fee structure will be provided upon acceptance.

Copyright and License
Upon acceptance, authors will be required to sign a copyright transfer agreement. IJAAM publishes articles under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License, allowing sharing and adaptation for non-commercial purposes, provided appropriate credit is given.
