Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) represents a significant public health concern worldwide, with dietary factors playing a crucial role in its etiology and prevention. Among dietary components, dietary fiber has garnered attention for its potential protective effects against CRC development. However, the evidence regarding the association between dietary fiber intake and CRC risk remains inconclusive, with some studies reporting protective effects while others show no significant association. This population-based cohort study provides evidence suggesting that higher dietary fiber intake may be associated with a reduced risk of colorectal cancer. These findings support current dietary guidelines recommending the consumption of fiber-rich foods for colorectal cancer prevention. Further research is warranted to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and optimize dietary strategies for CRC risk reduction.
