Abstract
The problem of stress has grown rather widespread in today's society, and it has significant repercussions for both the physical and emotional health of individuals. The practice of Vipassana meditation, which is an ancient mindfulness technique that has its origins in Buddhist tradition, has recently garnered interest as a possible intervention for combating stress. To study the benefits of Vipassana meditation on stress reduction in comparison to a control group, this randomised controlled experiment was designed to assess the effects of the meditation. Participants came from the community and were randomly allocated to either the Vipassana meditation group or the control group. Volunteers were recruited from the community. The Vipassana meditation group was given instruction in the techniques of Vipassana meditation, and they practiced the techniques on a regular basis for a predetermined amount of time during the course of the research. There was no intervention provided to the control group, and they continued with their regular activities throughout the day.
